Throckmorton Release Photo Records
A mugshot is the identification photograph made during booking. It records an arrest and intake, not guilt, conviction, or later case outcome. Release from custody does not change what the image originally documented. Yet the photo may vanish from a live roster when the person leaves, while an agency copy, archive record, or court file remains.
Texas Government Code chapter 552 governs requests to public bodies. It does not promise that every booking image must be disclosed. Confidentiality law, law-enforcement exceptions, juvenile rules, expunction, sealing, and other restrictions may apply. Ask the custodian for a decision on the particular image instead of assuming it is public or confidential.
Where Throckmorton Mugshots Appear
The right channel depends on who booked and held the person. Throckmorton County Sheriff is the arrest and transport starting point, but its official page identifies no operating jail or photo feed. Stephens County is the documented host with a vendor archive.

No Throckmorton Mugshot App
No Throckmorton Sheriff roster, mobile app, social release feed, or systematic booking-photo publication was verified. The official Throckmorton Sheriff page supplies office contact information, not an inmate search. Do not substitute an unofficial app merely because it uses the county name.
The Stephens County Sheriff page links its vendor roster and an official Facebook page. The roster has an Image field. Its arrest-date archive mixes RELEASED and CURRENTLY BOOKED entries, so search around the arrest date and read the arresting-agency field. When an image does appear, save the source details rather than the picture alone. Note the page address, access date, displayed name, arrest date, arresting agency, custody label, and booking or case identifier. Those details let the Sheriff, host jail, or clerk locate the same event if the online record later changes. They also reduce the risk of attaching the wrong image to a person with a similar name. A screenshot is still not an agency-certified copy.
Request Throckmorton Booking Photos
Start with the Throckmorton Sheriff at 108 Pogue Street, P.O. Box 578, Throckmorton, Texas 76483. Its official page has a general contact form but no dedicated photo form, set fee, or guaranteed response time. Ask first which jail received the person. Then send a separate request to that physical custodian.
- Provide full name, aliases, and approximate arrest or booking date.
- Add the arresting agency and case, warrant, or booking number.
- Ask for the booking photograph tied to that intake.
- Request the booking sheet and release or transfer event for context.
- Ask for electronic delivery and an itemized cost estimate.

Throckmorton Photo Source Limits
A news report or commercial archive may repeat a booking image after the official roster changes. Such copies can lose the arrest date, agency, disposition, or later correction. No commercial mugshot publisher is linked here. A copy found outside government should be traced back to the booking agency before relying on identity or status.
Photos are weak identity checks by themselves. Compare the full name, middle name or initial, booking date, arresting agency, case number, and lawful identifiers. Small-county context does not remove the risk of a name collision. The court docket is the proper source for dismissal, conviction, sentence, or another legal outcome.
Correcting Throckmorton Mugshot Records
Texas Business & Commerce Code chapter 109 regulates covered businesses that publish certain criminal-record information. It includes correction or removal duties in covered circumstances and bars charging for covered correction or removal. It is not a statewide mugshot ban, and it does not automatically make an official booking photo confidential.
An expunction under Code of Criminal Procedure chapter 55A differs from an order of nondisclosure under Government Code chapter 411, subchapter E-1. Expunction generally directs treatment of covered records under its terms. Nondisclosure limits public disclosure but does not erase every record or block all authorized access. Eligibility depends on the case and disposition.

Stephens Released Image Retention
A Stephens archive record marked RELEASED can retain an Image field, but neither Sheriff publishes a photo-retention rule. Presence today is no promise of permanence. Absence also does not show that the arrest never occurred or that an image was destroyed.
Use the archive as a discovery channel. Capture the arresting agency, booking date, and displayed status, then request the agency copy if the image is missing. The vendor page omits the release date, time, reason, and destination, so the image and status cannot establish how the custody event ended.
Throckmorton Mugshots After Transfer
A person arrested in Throckmorton may be photographed by a host jail and later transferred. A May 2023 Sheriff report documents two inmates transported to TDCJ in Abilene. In that setting, the county booking image and any state image belong to different custody stages.
TDCJ’s informal email-information route expressly does not provide photographs. Its online search covers current TDCJ prisoners, not released people. A Texas DPS registry photograph is available only for people subject to chapter 62 registration and is not a general released-inmate photo source. Federal BOP and ICE tools likewise answer custody questions, not local booking-photo requests.
Read Throckmorton Photos Carefully
A booking image should always be read beside its source data. At Stephens, useful fields can include name, custody label, arrest date, arresting agency, charges, warrant number, bond details, and court. Those fields remain booking data. They do not prove guilt, and a bond amount does not prove the person bonded out.
For the outcome, ask the County Clerk for misdemeanor or county criminal records, the District Clerk for felony or district records, or the Justice of the Peace for traffic and Class C records. Pair the court result with the jail departure record. That combination gives a far more accurate account than a photo alone.
